Question: Why do the signs smell?

Answer: Our signs are made of rough cut cedar therefore they will smell like cedar. When you receive your shipment with that many signs in one box you will smell the cedar more strongly than when they are displayed within a customers home as then you won`t have a large group of them. The cedar smell will not be as strong when they are not confined to a shipping box with many signs in a sealed environment.

Question: Why aren`t the signs or blocks sealed or stained?

Answer: They are stained with a colonial pine stain. However I do not seal them with a varnish, lacquer or other sealers because they are a primitive rustic sign or blocks and meant to be displayed indoors or in a protected area if displayed outside. If I were to seal them that would increase the price and I wanted a reasonably priced product for my clients without sacrificing quality.
